Waco isn’t just about the Magnolia Silos – it’s packed with fun spots perfect for a girls’ trip! Start with gourmet waffles at Waco Waffle Co., then browse books and sip coffee at Fabled Bookshop & Café. Shop seasonal finds at Magnolia Market & Silos, or relax with a wine tasting at Valley Mills Vineyard. For something creative, book a paint-and-sip session at Hammer & Stain. These hidden gems will make your getaway unforgettable!

People may know Waco as the home of the Magnolia Silos thanks to the fame of Fixer Upper team, Chip & Joanna Gaines. However, this city is full of unexpected gems that promise an unforgettable escape with your besties. Imagine chic shopping sprees, plenty of fun dining options, and savoring fine wines at a picturesque vineyard. Waco has it all and then some. In this Girls’ Guide to Waco, Jessica the Texas Travel Expert of My Curly Adventures shares must-visit spots and secret treasures that make Waco the ultimate playground for your next girls’ trip. Get ready for a fabulous adventure!

Waco Waffle Co

What better way to kickstart your girls’ day out than with a delicious waffle breakfast at Waco Waffle Co., where waffles are taken to gourmet levels? With a diverse menu of sweet and savory waffles that cater to every girl’s palate, this eatery ensures the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients. Munch on the decadent options like the “University” waffle with peanut butter and chocolate chips, or try the savory “Franklin” with jalapeño cheddar and turkey bacon.

Fabled Bookshop & Café

A bookshop may seem strange for a girl’s escape, but a visit to the Fabled Bookshop & Cafe in downtown Waco will prove otherwise. This cozy haven is perfect for book lovers and coffee addicts, offering a wide selection of new books, gifts and cafe options. After sipping your coffee or a glass of wine in the whimsical setting, you can search for a book to enjoy during your trip or when you get back home. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed and inspiring girls’ outing, where you can unwind and engage in all things literary. My personal recommendation is the muggle mocha with a powdered lightning bolt on top.

Magnolia Market & Silos

Of course we can’t talk about Waco without a trip to the silos. But can I share a secret? I’ve never seen an episode of the HGTV show Fixer Upper. Some people call the market overrated, but the more I visit, the more I fall in love with it. Of course, you have Joanna’s unique style across six themed shops that change with the season, but you also have the option to play lawn games, or enjoy a lunch from one of the fun food trucks. My favorite is grabbing a coffee or cupcake and wandering through their garden with so many blooms. With its ever-changing interior and picturesque setting, Magnolia Market offers an interactive retail therapy experience perfect for shopping and bonding with the girls.

In the end, I find Magnolia is what you make of it. I find it a cute place to wander and be outdoors with communities of people all around and local businesses being supported through the food trucks on site. I find all of that pretty special.
