We are so excited to announce that our Chicago chapter has just brought on a new team to run Go Girl initiatives and keep the love growing around the Chicago area.
These amazing women will be starting their adventure together in January. They’ll be working together to plan Go Girl events, build local partnerships, improve the membership program locally, and engage more women around Chicago in our global sisterhood.
Our Chicago Team
Julie Brichta — Events Officer
Julie’s love of travel started when she volunteered for a summer in Guatemala. Since then she’s been hooked! She loves exploring any place new to her, both in and out of the U.S. Her travels have taken her to some incredible destinations, and she has no plans of slowing down her exploration anytime soon.
When not out seeing the world, Julie is a special education teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, runs a small photography business, is a major concert-goer, and reads any book that she can get her hands on. She is thrilled to be the new Events Officer of the Chicago Chapter of the Go Girl network. She looks forward to planning fun and exciting events for the group while sharing her love of travel with all the other amazing Go Girls in the city!
Ashley Christensen — Partnerships Officer
Ashley is a world traveler — 23 countries and counting! Her former life as a teacher brought her to Hong Kong for two years, where she traveled Southeast Asia, ate delicious food, drank entirely too many cosmos, met the best friends a girl could ask for, and started her writing career.
She currently works in Chicago as an event planner for children’s programs, a travel and dating blogger, and volunteer extraordinaire.
Vanessa Day — Marketing Officer
Vanessa took her first trip when she was less than a year old, and she hasn’t stopped since. She’s been working in the travel writing and marketing fields for the last four years, and she’s exciting to promote Go Girl in Chicago.
Ashley Duncan — Membership Officer
Ashley is Go Girl of Chicago’s new Membership Officer. She has been living in Chicago for about a year with her cat and loves exploring everything the Windy City has to offer. A native Montanan, Ashley previously worked with a statewide coalition to reduce violence against women and currently works in Chicago as a nanny.
When she’s not running after three spirited young children, you can find her volunteering with organizations that support women’s empowerment, reading a great novel (She loves recommendations!), or planning her next worldly adventure.
